i can't figure out y, but everything i record is in mono, and playback only comes out the left speaker, even though the pan is set to center. if i move it 50 to the right, it plays out of both speakers. I need pan center to actually be center. what can i do about this? |

Give us about 5,000 more details about your hardware and how it's set up, particularly what you are recording and how that sound is getting into your computer. Given the almost complete lack of clues you've listed i'll take a stab in the dark and guess that you only have the left channel wire plugged in and the right channel is disconnected .... somewhere. |

ok i guess for some reason my system info is'nt showing up, but here it is. i'm running on windows vista 32 bit sp1, amd turion x2 64 2ghz, 3gb ram, m-audio firewire solo sound card pluged into a firewire express card, akg perception 220 microphone pluged into line 1 of the sound card by xlr cable, and i'm not using studio monitors at the moment, just using my headphones, but they are stereo. not sure of what other info you might need (just let me know). here's the problem, when i open the " just so u know " track that came with acid, everything plays back fine, out of both speakers. but when i try to make a new track, and i record, it only records in mono. now when i play back, i noticed that when the pan is set to center, it plays only out the left speaker, but when i move the pan 50 to the right, it plays evenly out of both speakers. I'm pretty sure it's somthing that has to do with the way i record (some kind of option or setting), but it's been so long since i last used acid, and also the last acid program i had was acid 6. now in acid 6 i remember that when i'd press record, i had to option of choosing to record in mono or stereo. acid 7 seems to not give me that option. let me leave it at that for now, i don't want to get to confusing, but i appreciate, and thank everyone for the help in advance. If you are recording a singl;e input tehn you are recording a mono track. You're recording on a stereo track. Make the track you're recording on mono. This will solve the recording on one side problem and the panning problem. If it's a mono signal use a monotrack. If it's a stereo signal (ie 2 separate inputs) use a stereo track |

Right click on the track that you are recording to. Select "Record Inputs" and select the appropriate mono input you want to record from. If you are using the mapper then select left or right depending on how you have connected your input source to your sound card. Peter |
