I cannot, edit/select all, then hit the delete key to clear the project.

You just want to clear all the events/clips in the project? Or all the tracks as well?

i want to clear the entire project.
i usually have reason rewired into my acid projects and i do like that to keep from having to reinsert the slave.

is the "select all" grayed out and unavailable?.... If so it is because you cursor is probably in one of your secondary windows (such as 'clip properties')...

try clicking on one of your tracks and see if the "select all" becomes available then.
