Subject:New problem with recording in ACID PRO 7

This just developed between yesterday and today, please let me know if I'm missing something obvious:

yesterday i recorded bass. i selected the input on my digi002, selected input monitor to on, and recorded. no problem.

today, i am adding another bass part. i selected the same input on the digi, selected input monitor to on, and PLAYED with the other tracks, everything worked fine. However, when i change to record, the output on the track disappears, but the input level remains the same.

???

If you're listening to input you wont hear playback. Does the digi have a mix knob on the front that lets you blend input and playback?

no you misunderstand, im not playing back a track that is recorded, i'm saying i can input monitor an empty, armed track, but the second i hit "record" the output level on the channel goes to 0 but the input level stays the same.

Something sounds funky. Most (if not all) pro-level audio interfaces route the input to output in some fashion for monitoring purposes (usually through a software mixer that controls the hardware interface).

It sounds like this was working fine for you but something went south along the way. Did you ensure your entire recording chain is correct? Might be a knob or something that's all the way down. (I do this all the time.)
