Anybody using a drum pad controller with Acid Pro 7 that has Vista 64 drivers? The Korg padKontrol looks interesting and it has a Vista driver but it doesn't specify whether it's for Vista 64. Thanks, Nedski |

My M-Audio Axiom 25 MIDI keyboard has 8 drum pads and works fine in Vista 64 with ACID Pro 7. There are no drivers needed. I just plugged it in and Vista 64 loaded the driver for it and it works. ~jr |

Thanks JR. I had counted M-Audio out because their support page doesn't have Vista 64 drivers for any of their products. The Axiom 25 MIDI keyboard only lists drivers for Vista 32 and XP and various MacOS version.. Question: Did you plug it into a MIDI port or a USB port on your PC? If you are using the MIDI port have you tried the USB? I just looked briefly through the Axiom user manual and it doesn't even mention drivers. It says that a Windows PC will simply recognize it as a "USB audio device." I wonder why M-Audio would even have drivers for it? Nedksi Message last edited on11/18/2008 5:51:37 AM bynedski. |

I wonder why M-Audio would even have drivers for it? Yea, this was the confusing part for me. I just bought the Axiom 25 this week and I was planning to plug it in via MIDI to use it with Vista 64 but I thought I would plug it into the USB port just to see what Vista 64 would do and it said, "Please wait while installing the drivers for your Axiom 25". I was shocked! I opened ACID Pro 7 and there it was and I defined it as a generic external controller and got the transport buttons to work and it played VSTi's just fine, drum pads and all. I have no idea what the drivers would do or why M--Audio is scaring away Vista 64 customers from purchasing the Axoim series but it seems to work and I'm happy. It's a versatile little keyboard. ~jr |

Thanks again Johnny, This sounds like a great inexpensive device for "two fingered" (non)musicians like me. ;-) I guess I'll put my Miracle Piano back in storage and I'll drop by the local Sam Ash store and pick up an Axiom 25. I hope they'll give me a Black Friday discount a week early. Nedski |
