Subject:What does the little padlock symbol on a vst mean?

Subject says it all. Sometimes after I insert a VST once in a project (even if I remove it and I'm not using it any more) it appears in the Add Plugin dialog with a little padlock icon. What does that mean?

It means that the current project has at one time used the plug-in. Because of undo considerations, the plug-in remails locked.

Locked means that you cannot disable it in the plug-in manager as the current project may need to access it even if it is not in the project any longer.

ah. ok, that little padlock looks more scary than it is, then ;-)
