I want to buy and use the PLAY virtual Instruments from soundsonline.com. Does Acid 7 support 64-bit PC VST?

Thanks,
Jason

No, ACID is a 32 bit application. It can only load and use 32 bit plug-ins.

I looked at soundsonline.com, but I could find not mention of native 64 bit OS support. What product are you looking at?

I just want see if I can utilize all 8 gigs of memory with the PLAY engine.

There would be no way to use the VST64 bit plugin. You may be able to connect the 64 bit stand alone version if you can stream MIDI from ACID to it. This way it could use the full memory available to it as a 64 bit app.

I will have to look a bit more into that possibility.

I appreciate the response and feedback. I really like using Acid for music composition but want to make sure I can still use the Sounds Online libraries without having to use another sequencer. If I have to use another sequencer, so be it. But researching Acid's full capabilities may help me have to buy and USE other software.

Thanks!

Well - like Peter stated - ACID is not 64 bit and does not support 64 bit plugs.

Also - you won't have to research much at all as this leaves you with only one option - Sonar as the only viable 64 bit host (as of right now).
