Under Options – open Preferences – click Editing tab – assign Melodyne 3 as one of the Editing applications – Click Apply. Now back to your song: Select the sound clip in the Acid timeline – right click on the clip to be edited – from the extended menu choose “Edit in Melodyne 3” - Melodyne 3 will open - a small window promt will ask you: “How would you like to connect to the running host application” the 3 choices are: 1. MelodyneBridge 2. ReWire 3. Don’t Connect. Be sure to choose 3. Don’t Connect. Your selected clip will then open in a new Melodyne window. This also works in Pro 7 but not as well as in version 6. Version 7 opens up two instances of the selected Editing application, no matter what the application is (another of the many bugs). Be sure to use the second instance of Melodyne that opens when using Acid Pro 7. The first instance doesn’t always open the right clip. In version 5 this is not even an issue. |

I just tried this in AP7. It doesn't open two instances of any of my external editors, just one. In fact, it works just fine. In AP6, there was a flaw in this process, in that no matter which app I chose to edit in, only app #1 would open. And Melodyne crashed everything. Doesn't seem to crash it now. Though I'm still eager to be able to use the Melodyne plugin directly. |

> Though I'm still eager to be able to use the Melodyne plugin directly. So... what doesn't work about Melodyne plugin? I just downloaded the demo and it appears to be working perfectly. I added it to a loop, modified the notes, and they played correctly. I added it to a One-Shot, modified the pitch and again it played back and rendered fine. Why do people say it doesn't work? (because I'm about to buy it considering that the upgrade to version 2 with Direct Note Access will be free) ~jr |

In some cases you may need to reset the acid properties (such as beatmapped tempo and root note) using Sound Forge. I switched from Antares to Melodyne a couple of years ago. It took a few minutes to figure out I had to use it as an editing application rather than a plugin. Luckily, no one told me it wasn’t supposed to work with Acid. |
