Hello,
I Tryed to record a track in vegas video and vegas audio
2.0a but the waveforms doesn't show in the track event
while recording, the opition DISPLAY WAVEFORM WHILE RECORDING is seet
to SHOW ALL WAVEFORMS. After the question to keep the recorded
files when i press done they appears. but why not while
recording ??? like in 2.0.. BUG ?
By the way, why when i record a track and after the
question to keep the recorded files if i press DELETE ALL,
in track view it appears an empty event with the same size
of the recorded WaveFrom ( but not saved ), is that
normal ??

thx... :)

I never had that problem in win2k, until I put in a matrox g400, now
I get the empty waveform view too...oh well, I LOVE this video card!!!
Thanks Karl!
small price to pay for no more IRQ conflicts and hopefully it will be
fixed in the next update anyhow

I have also the matrox G400 and i also donot have drawn waveforms
during rec.
Maybe an update of VV can help or we need new drivers for matrox.
I will look if there are any new drivers, cause tomorrow i get win2k,
so i have to look at the matroxsite.

To all in this forum:

I have no idea as to how all of this got started, nor do I want to
delve into this any further. I do have a few suggestions though:

1. SF - clear the database and start over. Everyone registers as new.
Plus, SF should have a separate forum for those who legally purchased
the program. This is a pain, but should at least give us a clean
start. This is a “USERS” forum.

2. Limit the posts/replies to "Vegas" (Wow, what a concept!) This
forum should not be about the ranting and raving about conspiracies,
competing software, connection speed, or any other dribble that has
nothing to do with Tips/tricks, bug reporting, useful critiquing and
such. If you want to pursue some other thread, take it somewhere else.

3. SF needs to grow a thicker skin, though I think deleting non-forum
related tripe is in order.

Again - I bought the software. I want it to work. I want it to work
well. I want SF to address current issues:
1. Rendering
2. CPU usage
3. Video waveforms
4. Inability to save projects in previous version

They should forget about adding features in ‘updates’ and leaving
them to ‘upgrades’. Windows is already a buggy platform. We (users)
need stable, well-behaved applications that will help us with our
tasks, not hinder us.
This is my last post on this issue. I would love to read what useful
comments real users have on this product.

I know you want a response, so I'll write this slowly, because
apparently, you can't spell.
Use a real name- You're a pussy for hiding behind a fake name.
I'm not hispanic, nor am I from Ponce. I don't know why you have
decided to pick a bone with me unless I hurt your feelings on some
prior occasion. If I did, I apologize. I must say though, that I
haven't read anything too intelligent or interesting coming from your
trashy little fingers......

George

Walterius,

Our G400 gives us that behaviour under Win2K, but under Win98 with
the same card we had no problems seeing the waves during recording.

FWIW, below is a reply I got from Matrox when I asked which beta
drivers they recommended for Win2K:

------------------

I would recommend the 5.10 or the 5.11 drivers. The main difference
is the 5.11 drivers fixed some flat panel issues we were having.

------------------

We are using the 5.11 drivers, dated 26Jul00 and the only thing I see
(other than the lack of wave forms while recording)is that some
Windows folder icons under Explorer appear to have vertical lines
drawn down the left side ... this is hardly noticeable, and nothing
else seems effected.

YOu can get them at:

http://matrox.com/mga/drivers/latest_drivers/home.htm

Both abberations are a small price to pay for being able to use the
card under Win2K, IMO.

KAC ...

Hmmm. I have a G400 with version 1.0. It displays the waveform fine.
