Subject:AP7 "Content" downloads not working?

I've successfully downloaded and installed AP7, Aria, Izotope, and Pulse, but the 3 content files won't download. When I click on the Zip folder an error comes up "The Compressed (zipped)Folder is invalid of corrupted". I just retried downloading "content 1" and the download appeared to stall out. I'm afraid of retrying since you only get 3 attempts. Any ideas why this is happening to those? |

Now I'm having an issue installing the media and preset managers. It appears to download fine, but when I try to install I get this error: "There was an error reading this install package. The install package is either corrupt or your temporary folder is out of disk space." I have about 20GB of space on my main harddrive. I'm saving all these downloads right to my desktop. Not sure what the problem is, since I've been able to successfully install the stuff listed above. Any clues? Thanks. |

OK, so I just successfully downloaded and installed the KitCore drums so don't think there's a problem with my computer so I went back to try the Preset Manager and still get the error message above. Confusing why some of these downloads work and others don't. Message last edited on11/1/2008 1:30:06 PM bylofreequency. |

Try re-downloading. It sounds like it might indeed be a corrupted installer. What browser are you using when downloading? |

Hi, thanks. I'm using Firefox. I've tried redownloading the preset and media managers a few times and the Content 1 twice. For that one you're only allowed 3 attempts so I'd like to figure this out before I try that one again. Don't get why the KitCore downloaded just fine in the middle of failed attempts with the others. I'll give Internet Explorer a shot. <edit> I tried IE and the same thing. The download just stalls out...it seems to think its done, but weird thing is it finishes way ahead of schedule (according to the estimated time download indicator). It then prompts me to run the install, but of course since its not really complete it comes up with an error. Message last edited on11/1/2008 2:53:33 PM bylofreequency. |

OK. It may appear there's a hardware issue on my end...my wireless USB modem seems to be flaking out in the middle of the downloads...somehow it's not maintaining its connection or something even though the connection status indicates "excellent". I unplugged it and replugged in...I just successfully downloaded and installed the preset and media managers via Firefox. |

Wireless is a poor choice for transferring large files. You'd be shocked and amazed to watch a connection trace of even a very good wireless connection, seeing the number of times it disconnects and reconnects, dropping and retransmitting packets. You might want to get a network cable and plug your PC into the router when you're doing a large download. |

Thanks, yeah. I just tried Content 2 and it failed again. I think I'll try downloading these on my computer that's wired to my router and then transfer them to my music machine/PC via DVD-r or CD-r. Thanks for the input guys. :) Message last edited on11/1/2008 4:37:07 PM bylofreequency. |
