Subject:Drag and Drop?

So does Acid 7.0 now have drag and drop support of clips, so that I can drag them from one track to another?

It seems like it does, but so far when I try to do this, it drops the clip onto another track but then changes the current length. Is this a bug, because I don't quite understand the function of having it work this way?

One other thing along the same lines. I'm currently setting up my keyboard short cuts so that Acid will edit clips/events with the Vegas shortcut keys that I've used in the past. I don't see anywhere that I can assign the NUM 8 and Num 2 keys so that it moves the clip either up or down to the next track. Is Acid missing this functionality? Can this be added in an update if it is?

So far, I'm liking the new Acid 7.0, it's looking very Vegas like....except for these couple things as far as moving clips between tracks. With my 1st glances it looks like Acid has finally arrived as a full functional DAW.

Apparently a bug. I noted this a few days ago as well. Hard to believe this passed beta - it was the very first thing I tried!

Yeah, the 1st thing I tried too. Crazy...it makes you wonder huh?

No wonder I found about 10 bugs in Acid 6 the 1st day I tried it out, if they're missing stuff like this. Maybe they just run the program and look at it with a bewildered look?

All my sound card outputs don't seem to be showing up using the ASIO driver. I'll go check to see if there is sound card driver update before I scream about this one.

I having a bit of a time trying to get AP7 to record at 24/48, but I haven't read the manual yet. It is disturbing that AP7 changes my Presonus settings from 48 to 44.1 first thing, every time, that has to end real soon.

I don't like 44.1

Acid 6 should not have been out there in the first place..........

ACID uses 44.1/16 as its default. If you want something else use the project props and select to use as the default.

Sometimes these things are side-effects of other fixes. So it's totally possible that this worked fine during the beta and got broken at the last minute while trying to fix something else. I have no idea if this was the case, but I do software development for a living and sometimes there just isn't enough time to regression test everything and little bugs creep in at the last minute because of this. So sometimes a fix for one bug actually causes another. :(

SonyPCH,

Now that I realize the drag & drop behavior is not as it was intended. Is there any chance that we can also see an additional move events up/down keyboard short-cut? It seems drag&drop and this behavior goes hand in hand. I don't use my mouse much to move events around, but instead I use my numeric keypad for more precise movements of clips. So along with being able to move events left/right with my numeric keypad like you can currently do in Acid, I would like to be able to move them up or down to another track via NUM 8/NUM 2 to the next track without sliding the event along the time line like can be done in Vegas.

We will consider it - like we do everything - for a future update or version.

Thank you,
I just hope that it isn't the later of "version", since those don't seem to come out all too often. I would hate to have to wait another 2 years.

Thanks for the response.
