FWIW, NI has the full version of Gutiar Rig 3 as a software only download for $119 until October 31st. It's normally $289. I got to play with the combos tonight and I was pretty impressed. To me, they sound better than most of my amp modelers.

I haven't bothered to install the version that came with AP7 yet. NI registration was kind of a pan for komapkt and kompakt wasn't really that great so I didn't bother installing it. Can you run down the pros/cons of the bundled version?

Where did you see the $119 upgrade to full Guitar Rig 3? I went to their site and the only thing I see is Guitar Rig 3 XE, which is the lite version of GR3 for $119. I already own that version and it's real basic - no where near the number of amps and FX as full Guitar Rig 3.

Do you have a link for this offer? I think you are referring to the upgrade from GR 1 and GR2 for those who owned the Full version of GR, not the lite version. The upgrade from the lite version is stil $219.

whoa - that's better than the upgrade for the owners of GR XE. It's a great deal!
I was going to upgrade to the full GR3 from GR XE but it was $229 for me. So if I buy AP7 and get the guitar combos, Im eligible for this price when I register the guitar combos? That's a great deal - AP7 and GR3 for almost the same as the upgrade for GR3 alone!

tough ordering this - everytime I go into the NI Shop and add the product to my cart and then select checkout, it says I have not selected any product and puts me back to the product page again. Im in an endless loop! AGGHHH

Not sure what's up with that. I wasn't sure if I wanted to chunk out $289 for the upgrade but $119 was too good to pass up.

I was able to download it tonight and, WOW, I couldn't stop playing. Very, very impressive. I went through the group that has a little bit of everything and then I went through some of the Bassman models. Being able to blend the cab mics is very cool too. Definitely worth the $119 upgrade price.

I had some trouble too, not with the shopping cart but with payment. Turns out their credit card payment window is a pop-up window and you have to allow for them. Need cookies allowed too, of course.

I have Guitar Rig 2 , and now, with AP7, have another set - Native Instruments Guitar Combos - has anyone had the opportunity to evaluate how all these stack up - in other words, would upgrading to Guitar Rig 3 give me any significant extra choices - it's all so confusing!

ThanksSO much for posting this link. Pretty ironinc that I got a better upgrade price buying and upgrading to GR3 from a $19 bundled product than I would have gotten upgrading from the $100+ version of Guitar Rig 3XE - that upgrade is still $229!!!
