When I copy an event from a beatmapped track and attempt to paste it, either to the same track or another track, it pastes a different part of the clip than the event that I copied. Anybody have a solution to this? |

I have spoken with tech support and this is now considered an issue that the developers need to resolve asap. Unfortunately, I can't find a workaround so I'm forced to wait for the fix. The new beatmap feature works great (where you can insert warp markers, I mean tempo changes, wherever you wish). I've been waiting for this for 5 years. The new elastique stretching algorithms sound great as well. I can't wait for 7.0b. |

Mark, Can you give me a quick run-through of your workflow when you're seeing this problem? What sort of audio are you working with? Is it recorded (possibly in multiple looped takes)? What's the exact copy/paste scenario that exhibits this problem? Thanks, -Pete |

Hi Pete ~ Taking an mp3 of a song (not my own recording, a standard song). Beatmapping it in elastique mode. Drawing an event on the timeline. Splitting the event. Attempting to copy or cut part of the event & paste it either into the same track or a different track. Either using ctrl-c & ctrl-v or holding ctrl while clicking and dragging. People at tech support could easily duplicate the issue. Please let me know if you find a fix or easy workaround. |

Mark, This is a known bug that's on the list to be fixed. There's currently a workaround. Use the time-selection tool. Create a time selection around the event (fastest to just double click the event). Copy and Paste of Beatmapped events should work… Note that this doesn’t fix Ctrl+Drag to create copies of events. Hope this helps, -Pete Message last edited on10/28/2008 1:13:20 PM bySonySQAPete. |

Hi Pete ~ I tried but could not get this to work. Even tried including a loop with it (which worked fine) but it still did not paste the correct part of the beatmapped track. |

Mark, Are you making sure to double-click the event you'd like to copy with the time selection tool chosen? When you do that you'll notice the loop region shifts to encompass the selected event and everything vertically within the boundry of the loop region will be shaded. Selecting and copying your chosen even will only copy that single event, though. If you only single-clicked you'd continue to see this same problem. In fact, that's the only way I'm able to reproduce the behavior you're describing. Message last edited on10/28/2008 3:16:35 PM bySonySQAPete. |

Pete ~ I was able to get it to work, thanks. That would work for some light song re-arrangement but not for intense re-editing & re-mixing! I'm looking very forward to the fix! |

This is insane...I am a remixer, and I have 20 tracks to produce asap and this bug has basically forced me to reinstall Acid 6. Please come out with a fix asap! |

A work around for the beatmap pasting bug: Duplicate the track – select the section of beatmapped music – move the selection to where you want it in the timeline – drag and drop the selected music to the original track – now you can delete the duplicate track. This is a big inconvenience, especially for a supposedly professional software, but at least you can finish the project you’ve already started with version 7. Sony could save itself a lot of embarrassment by giving real musicians a beta version of these obviously untested programs. I bought Acid Pro 6 and couldn’t use it for at least 6 months (v6.c) before they fixed most of the serious bugs. The time selection tool still doesn’t work as well as in previous versions. Yeah sure Acid Pro 7 works fine for unaltered loops as a overpriced loop program, but Sony insists on promoting this program as a professional recording tool. This time I didn’t rush out and buy the new version, but by the time they fix it my trial version will have expired and I’ll never know if they finally get it right. |

"The time selection tool still doesn’t work as well as in previous versions." Could you elaborate on this? Thanks, --j |

Prior to version 6 you could select a select a measure(s) with a sound clip(s) that starts anywhere within that measure (not at the beginning of the measure). You could copy and paste with the time selection tool and the clips would end up in the exact same place within the new pasted measure. Since version 6, the new pasted measure ends up with the clips starting at the beginning of the new measure, ignoring the space that had existed in the original copied measure. |

Thank you for the specific case. This is indeed a bug and has been added to our bug tracking database to be addressed in an ACID 7.0 update. Thanks, --j |

FWIW I had just this happen last night, in a single track ex-CD, beatmapped and tempo changed from 115 to 120. I split a section near the end, copied it to lengthen the last section to bring out the total time to a target. Elastic (top setting) was selected. Copied by both dragging, and r-click paste , same result. Instead of the section I copied, an unrelated piece from near the start of the file was pasted. Then I had a crash, sadly of which I missed copying the error report. Will try again tonight... geoff |

@Geoff. Exactly the same thing happened to me. At first, I thought perhaps my [CTRL] [C] buttons weren't working properly! ha ha. Glad it's been identified as a bug though. Looking forward to a fix as I do 'lots' of chopping :) |
