Subject:AP7 Error - Soft Synths Not installed

Howdy, Well - I got AP7 all installed and gave it a good whirl last night. On thing - and maybe I just don't get how to do this - when I went to load a 6.0d project that I have been recently working on - AP7 gave an error when loading the project and listed three soft synths as being "not installed on this machine" and there are: 1. EZDrummer 2. StylusRMX 3. Sampletank 2.x Of course - these are all installed and available but I believe this has something to do with the new plug-in manager and how it has interpreted the names of my soft synths upon install. So - if it's a naming thing - I tried to "rename" the label of EZ drummer...the 6.0d project saw it as "EZdrummer" - but that did nothing. Short of this possible bug - how does one easily replace a "bogus" instance on a soft synth with the correct one? Is it as simple as double clicking on the channel number and then clicking Edit Soft Synth and choosing another? Cheers! B |

I had a problem with Sampletank 2.5 and NI Akoustik Piano no showing up. It turns out that they just took too long to initialize and ACID Pro 7 thought they were bad. Try opening the Plug-in Manager and under Soft Synths | All | Failed see if they show up. If so, right-click on one and choose Rescan. That should make them active again. ~jr |

I've got the standalone versions of the NI guitar combos, but the VSTIs are not showing up in AP7. ETA: Ignore me -- for some reason I thought the Combos were VSTIs, not VSTs. They're all there, and they sound fantastic. So, for what it's worth, all my synths are installed and working fine. I hereby remove myself as a data point from this thread. :) Message last edited on10/28/2008 12:22:56 PM byfilkertom. |

What JohnnyRoy said. I had trouble with SampleTank as well, but rescan took care of it. |

Try opening the Plug-in Manager and under Soft Synths | All | Failed see if they show up. If so, right-click on one and choose Rescan. That should make them active again. Hmmm..I think this is something else. I did check Plugin Manager and there were no instances of anything under "failed". I also rescanned and it took like 1 second. Also - EZ Drummer, StylusRMX and Sampletank 2.x are/were readily available in starting a new project without even going to Plug Manager. They are also all readily available even when this 6.0d project opens. It's just that AP7 seems to be picking up the wrong name or wrong label or wrong something as it reads the project metadata at loadup. For example - in the 6.0d project - AP6 was tagging StylusRMX with some strange name (I will check on this) - a name I believe it picked up when scanning all the dll's when first installed. Same deal for Sampletank. 6.0d did not see it as Sampletank 2.x - but AP7 does. If it matters at all to Peter or anyone else checking into this - my 6.0d project is self contained as a acd.zip package. Any other info would be helpful. Cheers! VP |
