Subject:ACID 7 Downloadable installer FAIL

I run the installer and it unpacks properly, then gives an error message:

Could Not Access Network Location[]

Retry -Cancel

Why would it be trying to access something other than the drive I am installing it from and on to?

A classic "non-starter"! Sweet!
A particularly neat feature is that it crashes so early, I can't even figure out how to activate the product and get phone support. Epic Fail!

OK, so what am I to do other than wait for a new installer to come out? Nothing else I have installed recently has had any kind of trouble. Machine runs great, etc.

What operating system? Did you download it to a local drive? Try running acidpro70_enu_x86.msi manually from the folder it unpacked into.

It installed fine for me on Windows XP Pro.

Thanks for replying.
It is Windows XP Pro.
I tried it manually, same result. I am thinking something in my Sony registry entries is confused. I have an email into Sony but I expect them to be delayed with the new release.

What other software is running on your PC that might conflict? I had purchased a program called Restore It! once and what it did was monitor all the changes to my hard drive and try and record them so that it could undo them. It turns out that it conflicted with the Sony installer and all of my installations failed. If you have any software like that, it might be causing the problem. Turn off all anti-virus or other system monitoring software and try again.
