Hi, i'm using SF8 to master and do minor edits to backing sequences that i've recorded in my DAW. I save them out as 320 kilobit mp3s to play from a Sony PSP. My question is, each time i do an edit and save it again is it re compressing the file, or in other words, am i losing quality with each subsequent save? |

You should be editing and saving uncompressed .wav files. Multiple saves will not affect their quality. Then render those to .mp3 to hear the results on your player. |

Thanks, i suspected as much... I used to export from my DAW (Cubase 4) as .wav and then use it to do my edits but i just found it more convenient to run it out as mp3 but may have to look at changing back... Thanks again for your reply, T |

                            Convenient rarely equals good. |
