You need new forum software

I don't like the way this forum is setup. I think it could
be much more useful.

Since it only shows a very limited number of entries on a
page, some of the old posts that are very relevent get
forgotten. It is annoying especially if you have an
unresolved issue that nobody looks at anymore since it's
buried 8 pages back.

My suggestions:
1. Hide all the responses to the original post and just put
a number beside the post indicating how many responses
there are. It is totally unneccesary to list the responses
individually.

2. Make the list longer. Scrolling is not that hard. I'd
much rather have to scroll down a long list then only be
able to see 10 at a time. I'd rather see 200 at a time on
one page than have to wait everytime I want to see the
previous posts.

3. Have a way to get from a post back to the tree. I always
have to hit the back button on my browser numerous times to
see the list again.

Sorry to complain, but I'm a web designer and it drives me
nuts when there is an ineffecient design getting in the way
of a web sites usefulness. And I think you have a great
forum here that's not being used fully because of the way
the forum design works.

Agreed. Good idea. Only drawback is: list of complaints may scare
potential buyers...

Good, but not "enforceable", for reasons expressed above.

Set preferences to 50 entries.

Click on "Vegas", right above post's title (Forums / Vegas First |
Last ). Will take you back to tree.

I'm always impressed with companies that are willing to discuss their
bugs and faults. That's why I like SF. I'm leery of companies that
don't have support forums or deny that bugs exist. I bought an After
Effects plug-in a month ago that wouldn't work. Tech support claimed
that no one had ever experienced the problem I had. Yesterday I got
an email from them taughting release 2.2 that fixed the exact bug I
described. They weren't being up front to begin with.

I've used some other audio programs (Cakewalk) and quite frankly I
don't think SF has anything to worry about as far as complaints go.
Their stuff is so much more solid and useable.

I still think this is a good idea. I don't know why it's
not "enforceable"

Thanks for the tip. Never saw that before.
