Can you save the files that are on the acid 7 cd to my computer with out having the cd in? The reason I ask is because i'm planning on buying some expander packs and if I make a song I don't want to have to keep switching cds just to find a certain loop. can anyone help?

I hope I am understanding your question. I copy/paste all of my loops from the cd and move them to the c:drive in a folder called "loops", and then select them from the explorer tab in acid.

and I would't have to have the cd in when I start the program? can you explain how to do it a little more if you don't mind.

If you install acid you should choose to install it on your hard drive...I am not sure how you are running it off the disc. That's got me a bit confuzed.

Then when you buy a cd of loops, like hydroponic hip hop or something, you would just copy them from the cd to your hard drive also. Then look on the explorer tab in acid and select the folder where you moved the loops to.

Two questions:
Did you install acid to your computer? And do you know how to copy loops from the cd to your computer?

Getting those answers would be helpful. peace!

yes I did install it into my computer,then I took the cd out. but when I tried to open the the loops in the explorer there was noithing there, untill I put the cd back in. then the loops showed up. and I'm not too sure how to copy from the cd to the pc.

ok, sounds like you are on the right track. I am assuming you are using windows xp for these instructions:

1. Open "My computer" from the start window and browse to the folder that contains the cd loops that you want to use. Select the folder that contains the loops by clicking it, then right click the folder and select 'copy'.

2. Now navigate to the c: drive by clicking the up arrow, and create a folder called loops or whatever you want. To create a new folder, right click somewhere in the window and select 'new -> folder'. name it.

3. Now open that new folder by double clicking it. Right click in that window and select 'paste'. The loops should now start copying over from the cd to the new folder.

4. Now go into your acid and select the new folder you just created to find the loops.

The other thing i think might be going on is that if you created an ACID project using loops on the CD drive then the next time you open the project ACID is going to go look at that CD drive to find those loops again. What you should be doing is copying the loops to the hard drive *before* you create a project.

With the projects you've already created you'll have to tell ACID to go find the loops on your hard drive after you've copied them there. Then after you save those projects ACID will remember where those loops are properly.

1. copy all your loops to your harddrive before you create music.

2. for the song you already made, you can save the song with all media, this way all the loops and sounds are budled into that project.
