Subject:Vocal playback issue

Hi All, Maybe somebody can help me to solve this issue....
After I'm done with my song (playback -1) I want to record my voice of course. I'm using Alesis USB mixer and I don't really care about latency because to hear the playback I'm using monitor out for mic straight to my headphones and everything's fine here. But, after I record even a short event of vocal and when I try to listen what I did vocal is always going too fast by 1/32 sometimes 1/64 note and to keep it even I have always to shift vocal by those notes to the left (back). Does anyone know why is it happening?
There's another small issue with playback.....After I put some loops on the tracks (doing usual work with loops) and when I push "play" button my cursor jumping ahead by 1/4 sometimes 1/2 note. Playback is OK without any distortions but, when music plays the cursor doesn't match the measures it goes through, it's always running ahead but, when I reload the song everything comes to its plays. It's not very big problem rather annoying when I have to watch cursor working with loops and it's not on the accent that music plays.
I hope I explained more or less understandable forgive me please if it's not so)))
I'd appreciate your help people.
Thanks a lot
Geno

The first issue is all a result of latency. Your can hear the music and think you are singing in sync, but it's being recorded with a little latency that you won't hear until you play it back. You might check to see if you can switch drivers to make a difference. I record with the Line6 Toneport and it has latency-free monitoring. But before that I had another interface that had about 150ms of latency which caused my tracks to do the same as yours.

I would check the driver options first and see if you can switch between WDM, MME and ASIO. Write down your settings before you make changes...the wrong driver may kill the sound entirely.

The second issue may be drivers, or buffer size. I would check the help file and experiment with different buffer sizes. Also, some computers that barely meet the specs for the recording software may not be able to keep up no matter what you do.

Good luck. I hope it works for you.

Thanks a lot Texas for reply, I'll try to experiment with the drivers although my ASIO driver's setting is 50ms and it works perfectly and most of the audio tracks I'm doing with my KORG TR, live accustic guitar and here everything's fine until I put vocal event. And after I lay my vocal it doesn't delay when I play it back but it seems goes a bit faster that's why I need to shift my vocal audio event back by 1/32 or 1/64 note. Of course I'll try to do something with drivers and buffer size, thanks anyway.
