I have a firepod and the trial version of acid pro 6. I can get acid to recognize firepod asio driver but can only record into four tracks. input one and two of the firepod into one channel, input three and four into one channel, etc. and each track not only receives two signals but records them only on the left side even though stereo has been selected.

Totally confused.

I am not seeing this problem with the Firepod.

If I

- New Project
- Add 12 audio tracks
- Route Track 1 to input 1/2
- Route Tack 2 to input 3/4
-Route Track 3 to input 5/6
- Route Track 4 to Input 7/8

Rout tracks 5-12 to inputs 1-8 respectively.

Connect up a test tone to all inputs of the Firepod

All tracks record correctly.

Tracks 1-4 have stereo media
Tracks 5-12 have mono media.

???

Are you sending it a stereo signal? Setting the track to stereo only enables the track to record both channels. If you plug in a mono source you will only get the left channel recorded. The software is doing exactly what you told it to do, you just didn't feed it a stereo signal.

Try using a TRS cable with a stereo instrument. A mono guitar will never record in stereo nor would you every want it to record in stereo. Sending a mono signal to both tracks does not make it stereo; it just wastes disk space. If your guitar is mono then record it in mono.

JohnnyRoy

Followed your instructions. Everything works great now, I have 8 independant channels. Woo hoo! Thanks for taking the time
