Subject:extending the ending in order to fade out

Sound Forge 9.0. I have some live recorded music (piano), but the sound of the last note or chord on many of these is cut off too soon. There isn't enough material to do a fade.

How can I best extend the sound, nicely, so that I can create a reasonable length fade out?

If you process the entire last note, and get too much reverb, try processing only the last half of the last note.
The closer to the end of the last note that you process, the less noticable the reverb effect will be.
