I need to normalise the L channel up to the same level as the R channel using the batch process tool. Now I understand this may not be desirable in all cases but I've ripped in around 50 vinyl tracks and it turns out the Technics SL1210 turntable I used had a dodgy L audio cable. Have since swapped the turntable and recordings now have the correct L & R balance. I looked in the help and it says noramalise takes the highest level of the whole track, not sure if this would achive what I want? Now I could do it manually by raising the L channel volume to match the R but thats a lot of work and I would be basically guessing the db level to raise on the L channel. Any ideas?

How much of a level difference are you talking about? If you're talking more than a few dB, forget about it and re-record the vinyl. A big problem I can see, if you have major levels to make up is really bringing up the noise floor level to where it would be objectionable.

Thanks for that. Looks like it's 2 or 3 dB lower on the left channel so I'll give it a go and see how it sounds. Cheers.

Good luck with that, and it may work if it is only a resistive load, but any kind of connection problem can introduce wideband distortion through L/C variances, in my experience. Amplifiying it can only exacerbate the problem. I suggest you listen to the L and R channels separately at higher levels to determine if you hear a difference in clarity. Re-recording, as previously mentioned, would be the safest step.
