I have been using Vegas for a long time and Sound Forge also. But I don't use Sound Forge that often. I am using SF 9e and just noticed that some of the FX processes (Smooth/Enhance) and effects (Reverb) place beeps, pops, and sounds into my recording when I apply them.

I assume this means that I only have trials of these FXs? I thought that Sound Forge came with the Sony FXs as well as the Noise Reduction. Again I could have sworn that I used these effects in previous versions of SF. Am I dreaming or just having a bad nightmare?

Thanks,

TomG

Sound Forge 9 is not a free upgrade to previous versions, if that is what you're asking.
If you have registered 9 with Sony and are still getting beeps in your plugins, you need to contact Sony customer support.

Thanks, musicvid

No, I have a fully registered version of SF 9. So what you are saying is that all the plug-ins should be operational? Interestingly enough some are (noise reduction, normailze) and some aren't (graphic equalizer, smooth/enhance, reverb).

May try to reinstall SF 9 again.

Yeah, do a reinstall and you should be fine... same thing happened to me with Vegas a few months back, turns out my Vegas registration got corrupted when I installed something else that my computer and it reverted to trial mode... reinstall fixed it.

Look in the SONY folder under START/PROGRAMS.

Usually it's START - PROGRAMS - SONY - UTILITIES - MIGRATION TOOLS.

I've used the migration tools to update the licenses on my plugins (a long time ago), but it may help in your case.
