Subject:Acid Pro 6.0, EZdrummer and Korg PadKontrol

Has anyone out there had any experience with setting up Acid Pro 6.0 and the Korg PadKontrol MIDI Studio controller? I can't seem to find the correct MIDI Preferences parameters in Acid Pro 6.0 that will enable the two to work properly together. Anyone know what they should be? The manuals don't address the specifics, so at the moment I'm stuck spinning my wheels. Thanks in advance for any help.

The PadKontrol has a USB interface. I believe that it should look like a MIDI input and output pair.

Does the PadKontrol show a MIDI input device in the MIDI Prerences page? It should. According to the docs, it will expose 3. You need to enable the input port so you can use it to trigger soft-synths in ACID. This appears to be Port A as describe in the Appendix of the padKONTROL manual.

You can also enable the output so you can send sequences or MIDI Clock to the Korg.

Once you do this, select the track in ACID that is routed to EZDrummer or open the EZDrummer in the Synth Properties view in ACID.

Play the pads on the Korg. If everything in the Korg is configured correctly, then it should send MIDI msgs to ACID and ACID will send them to EZDrummer.

If not, then you need to make sure that the Korg is sending MIDI data.

You then need to determine what MIDI Channel the Korg is transmiting on. ACID will generally accept and route to a MIDI track regardless of MIDI channel. That is it will accept input from any channel and translate it to the output/destination channel setting of the track and the soft-synth it is routed to.

This should get you started. Let us know how it progresses.

Thanks, Peter. I'll give your instructions a try and let you know what I come up with.
