VidCap Problem Revisited

Well I thought I had found the answer to the problem, but I didn't so.....I'm trying to capture 1080i footage from a Z1U using Vegas 8 Vid Cap. I can capture DV footage from this cam but I can't figure out what it is I have to do to capture HDV from it. If I set the cam's menu to HDV> DV conv to on, I can capture DV. If I set the cam's menu to HDV> DV conv to off, I see this mssg: The device Miscrosoft AV/C Tape Subunit Device could not be opened. Any one know what it is I need to do? Thanks, Rich

I don't have Vegas 8, but as I understand, you use a different capture program for HD than you do for SD.

Someone else can tell you how to get to it I am sure.

To capture HDV, use the INTERNAL capture app instead of the EXTERNAL one. If it doesn't ask anymore, go to Options - Preferences and change it there.
