Subject:ASIO Buffering problem

Hello
I'm running Forge 9e, using an M Box for i/o. In the ASIO settings, if I have a buffer size of 1024 samples or higher (which gives excellent stability) it won't allow me to play 24bit 48kHz files, which I use all the time. It will allow 16bit 44.1kHz. The only way I can play 24bit 48kHz is to lower the buffering to 512 samples (11mSec). At this setting, however, I get the occasional glitch/gap. Any clever ideas would be appreciated...

I have terrible problems with gapping and loud noise when previewing plug-ins. Using ASIO with an Echo Layla 24. I've played with the buffering for hours without gettting the problem to go away and would also appreciate any ideas.

I seem to have solved my problem. I re-installed XP, but this time only with Service Pack 1...problem solved. It had occurred to me that my problem only started after I installed Service Pack 3. Maybe this is a clue for other people?
