IMO, you don't need double layer for 2 hour DVDs. Burning your video at 4 MBS is pretty good when viewed on most consumer equipment. I know there will be some variation of opinion on this, esp. those with higher end flat panels.

so would you set the bitrate at 4 MBS when you render the project in vegas, or in DVD Architect Software?

Use the bitrate calculator at videohelp.com to determine the video bitrate.
4MBS is an approximate fit for 2 hrs. 10 min. on a 4.7GB disc.
Render the video to the appropriate DVDA template in Vegas, and render the audio separately.
Individual results may vary.

Better buy single sided 8,5gb dvd, it's defenitly plays on all dvd-players... or yes, use really good transcoder, like Procoder 3.. Amaizing, what this soft can do on small bitrate! If You plan publish work with high bitrate(up to 9000), then it's not so important, witch transcoder You use...
