Subject:Playing WAV files in ACID XMC 6

Hi,

I am completely new to Sony audio/ACID. I just recently installed my new toys:

Vegas Platinum
DVD Architect
Acid XMC

Today, I tried using Acid to play back a wav file of an entire LP I recorded on to my computer system. I was going to edit/split the music & make into a CD. But I am not getting any sound when I play the wav. Sounds Works fine in Media player and NERO.

All my other audio programs work on the computer and there are no hardware issues. Acid plays its loops fine but will not play any sound from a wav file I have created on the computer. No references were found on the web or in the help files.

How are you trying to play the wave file? After you drop it into ACID do you see the wave file on the track? Did you paint the track with the wave file? This is a common error. New users forget to drag the mouse along the track and paint the wave file where they want it.

Hi John,

I logged in this morning just to see if anyone was looking. Frankly, I was surprised to see a response so quickly. I tried what you suggested and it worked. I clicked on and used the brush (painting the track and it worked! But I also found that if you move too far, the brush cannot be dragged back to the actual end of the track. I X'd out not saving things and tried again with the pencil instead. It seemed to do the same thing but also allowed me bring back the (highlighting) if you will to the actual end of the track in the same stroke of the mouse. I am going to have to do a little reading I think. Thanks again for your help.

Glad it worked out. Here a little tip when using the brush... if you Ctrl+Click with the brush it will paint the entire wave file in one click. This is very handy for painting entire songs quickly. Have fun.
