Subject:Trying to Record at 48k

Hello,

I'm using SF 8.0. Today is the first time I've tried recording at 48k. I'm not getting any signal in through my Focusrite Saffire, but the signal is fine when I record to a 44.1k file.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

You need to set the Focusrite Saffire to Samplerate=48K before starting SoundForge.

I tried that and it's still not giving me any signal.

Thanks, though.

Have you specified the ASIO drivers in Sound Forge preferences?

Yes, I have... I've never had trouble recording at 44.1.

So why record at 48k then? It won't get you anything much more than 44.1 k; besides, you'll have to dither down to 44.1 anyway to burn to cd.
Second - do you have any other programs running that access the audio (like Windows) whilst trying to record at 48K? If you do, that may explain why you can't switch and record at 48k.

I'm trying to record at 48k because that's what my video-production client requested for my voice track. I'll check the Windows sounds and see if that does the trick.

Thanks!

If a deadline looms, record at 44.1 and resample to 48k.
