Subject:Recording latency with M-Audio Mobile Pre USB soun

I have bought M-Audio Mobile Pre USB sound card.I have ACID MUsic Studio 7.0. If track recording via card, I see mooving red cursor is delaying from real signal diferently. Sometimes is stopped and than run again. Finaly is result, playback is hearing with increasing latency. I am not able sinchronize record with metronom or drum loop.
I have disabled internal Sigma Tel audio card,set up buffer to higher capacity, but no success. Further to, I hear at playback sometimes strong hum noise.
At total, I can not record instrument or voice.

Specs of Laptop:
Dell Inspirion I6400
Genuine Intel CPU
Duall core T2250@1,73GHz
1GB RAM
Windows XP Professional, Service Pack2

Does the Mobile Pre USB have ASIO drivers? I'm not sure it does which is why I usually recommend the Fast Track USB or Fast Track Pro if you want a USB interface (I prefer firewire myself).

If it does have ASIO drivers you should go into Options | Preferences | Audio Device and select them. If not, can you return it for an interface that does? ACID really needs an interface that uses ASIO drivers to get low latency.

Yes, Mobile Pre USB has ASIO driver.
