Subject:Setting up Evolution keyboard...

Did a search for this but didn't find anything related.

I have an Evolution MK-461C keyboard. Just set up a new computer with Vista and installed Acid Pro 6. The keyboard is USB. When I turned on the keyboard Vista recognized it and installed the drivers, but Acid doesn't seem to know it's there.

I also have Acoustica's Mixcraft 4 installed, and that picked up the keyboard right away and it was immediately usable.

Don't know what I'm missing, but there are no devices listed for MIDI input in Preferences and I can't seem to get Acid to recognize it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

I believe your mileage may vary with Vista and ACID Pro 6. (ACID Pro 6 was written with 2000 and XP in mind; Vista wasn't even out of the bag yet.) Some users report no problems, while others do.

Still, it doesn't hurt to try to give it a shot. Did you try the latest drivers from M-Audio's site?

Thanks mD, appreciate it. Downloaded the driver you linked to and it works.

I finally gave up the XP stance and picked up a new machine with Vista on it, and upgraded from version 5 to version 6 at the same time, so this is my first go with Pro 6. Lots new to figure out, and I see from the forums I'm already behind times with people expecting version 7 out.

I had just assumed Acid would pick up the keyboard with the Windows drivers since everything else did. That "never assume" thing. Trying now to figure out where to set the VSTi for a track so I can start playing around.

Anyway, working and I appreciate the help...
