I've recently switched from using a stage mic. to a studio mic. The stage mic. ran through the sound card. It recorded fine and I could here my vocals through my headphones w/ the music while recording. The studio condenser mic. records a lot better, except I can't hear the vocals through my headphones while recording. Any suggestions, setting change i need to make. HELP! |

How do you have the new mic connected to your equipment? Is it hooked into your computer's Line-in or Mic input? Are you using a mixer or other equipment before it goes to your PC? Often times, it's the PC's software mixer control panel that's the culprit - check the Line-in or Mic volume and Mute checkboxes (on the Playback panel, not the Recording panel). |

The mic. is connected directly to the computer via. the USB port. |

Ah - sorry about missing that detail (it's in the subject - duh). I'm not familiar with such devices, but most likely, the software that it came with will have a control panel or program that allows you to adjust its volume. This is unknown, but it might possibly add a mixer level that you can control from the standard Windows mixer (look in its options for a check box to add it - I'm just guessing here). |
