I'm on the hunt for a notebook pc. So here's the deal. I'm going to be recording some live shows. Instead of lugging my desktop pc into the club, i'd like to have a notebook. my audio interfaces are (2) Presonus FP10's (firepods). I'm using Acid Pro 6d. I prefer to record at 24 bit, 48.0 kHz . I need something that can handle recording from all 16 inputs simultaneously without being an overkill. I'm not interested in running any plugins while recording. All my mixing will be done on my desktop pc. My current desktop can handle this no sweat. It's got an Intel Core2Duo E6600 2.4 gHz processor with 3 GB RAM. Thing is a notebook pc with these stats is expensive. Anybody out there with suggestions or are in a similar situation? Thanks. |

You might want to consider posting this on a general forum like kvr-audio. Or maybe a recording specific forum. I think the new laptops will have enough power and speed, but most come with vista loaded. And I don't know anout 6.0 and vista. Also, some laptops have conflicts with certain soundcards, but I can't remember the specifics. |
