Hello all I'm wondering if when rewiring Acid into Cubase and the tempo for Cubase and Acid is synced at 120 will Acid still be able to deal with tempo and key changes or is this cancelled out by Cubase being the master? Basically the question is will Acid still be able to work its magic of playing any tempo and key changes? Any input would be greatly appreciated Many thanks cheye |

When ACID is the slave, Cubase controls the tempo. All tempo features in ACID are disabled - you cannot change the tempo and add/edit tempo and meter markers. ACID will do everything it can to keep in sync with the ReWire host, but there are limitations with ReWire. ReWire communicates only the instantaneous tempo. It does not communicate past tempo changes. (For ACID to do its magic, know not only what the tempo is currently, but what it was in the past is important.) This can result in problems related to when and how things trigger. If you stick to using ACIDized media in ACID (and MIDI) you should experiance no problems. Use Cubase to play long form audio tracks, but use ACID for looped material. Peter Message last edited on6/6/2008 1:31:56 PM bypwppch. |

Thanks Peter Would it be possible for you to explain by steps the procedure for setting it up the way you have explained in your response? This would be greatly appreciated. Cheye |

There really is nothing to explain. You add ACID to Cubase as a ReWire device as described by the Cubase manual. No ACID specific steps, but the procedure is common regardless of which ReWire Client/Device you are using. You then enable the ACID ports you desire in Cubase. Again, this is covered in the Cubase manual. You must launch ACID as Cubase does not launch things automatically. Once this is done, then ACID appears in Cubase' mixer view. If you have specific issues, I will be glad to help where I can. Peter Message last edited on6/9/2008 1:26:04 PM bypwppch. |
