Subject:Izotope FX - Where r they????

Hey all.

I am a little frustrated because I was forced to upgrade to SF 9 since Sony didn't bother to make any changes to previous versions so that they would work in Vista.

With the upgrade came the Izotope 'package'. I installed it, but I don't see it when I go into the VST Manager in SF. I was able to add other third party plug ins.

Any idea how I can get SF to recognize these FX plug ins? AHHHH

You should see an item on your "FX Favourites" list called "Mastering Effects Bundle". This contains the 4 Izotope effects - Mastering EQ, Mastering Limiter, Mastering Reverb and Multiband Compressor.

Glad you've found' em.

But what how many versions back do you think SoSoFo should have gone to make SF Vista-compatible - just the one you had, or maybe back to SF4 ?!!!

I'm having a similar problem. The FX bundle does not show up in favorites. I have an earlier Izotope folder for Izotope Vinyl installed and this is where the FX bundle and its dlls went. How do I get these to show up in Sound Forge? Where do the FX bundle dlls go? Thanks.

If they aren't already showing, try rescanning your plugins by clicking on "FX Favorites|Recreate by Plug-In Name". This will sometimes reveal plugins that did not previously appear correctly.

On my system the dlls are in:
C:\Program Files\iZotope\SoundForgeMasteringBundle\win32

But I doubt if it is a good idea to try modifying this sort of thing directly.

Hi Mark thanks for the reply.

I re-installed the Bundle and it resides in the same folder on my machine as on yours; C:\Program Files\iZotope\SoundForgeMasteringBundle\win32

I re-scanned for plugins thru "FX Favorites|Recreate by Plug-In Name" as you suggested and that fixed it.

Thanks!

I have done what you guys have suggested and I can't find my iZotope bundle anywhere. I had Sound Forge Audio Studio 9.0 and recently upgraded to Sound Forge 9.0. Any suggestions?

bilco82, it's a support issue, so why not go direct to Sony Support rather than the user forum?
