Yeah, it was GmElliott (that was his Vegas user name). He hasn't posted in years (last post was April 2006), which is too bad because his work was beyond awesome. I don't mean to slight any of the excellent DPs, editors, and videographers on this board, but I thought his work was the most consistently wonderful, talented stuff of any event videographer I have ever seen.

Here is a link to his web site:

Glen Elliott

[Edit] I just looked at that site, and it doesn't look like he has done much since 2006. Looks like he might have gotten out of that business, although a quick Google search turned up his MySpace page (I won't post a link here) and he still lists his occupations as "Event Videographer." His page was last edited a few days ago, so he is definitely still around and kicking.

On the contrary. He's an FCP user now though I've never exactly found out why. For awhile I think he went back and forth.

He's active on the Video University boards and probably the dvinfo Wedding Video board.

A lot of that going on ... I note that a lot of the more interesting, creative voices on this board are gone: For instance, where's Stonefield?

thanks, for the reply.

gm elliot was who i was looking for, and if he is using FCP(so sad) it really reminds me that sony/fcp/adobe/avid and the others, are just tools and not the ends to the mean or means to the end.

There is so much more involved in creating a great video then just the tool we use to edit.

Thanks

Glen switched to FCP for a couple of reasons:

1. He liked he Mac and Mac OS better than PC with Windows (He still uses Vegas on Bootcamp occasionally)

2. Business reasons - all of his associates uses FCP so it makes sharing work and networking easier in his business.

He's still very active in the wedding/event business. He's on Video University (and a few other forums) along with many other talented videographers whose work you might enjoy seeing as well.

Glen is still very active and still producing excellent wedding video, in fact he did my wedding video last year and it was outstanding. He also told me he won an award for something similar to "iron chef" for wedding video editors. Can't have enough good things to say about him.

And yeah he told me about the switch is because more for business reason. As much as he loves Vegas, it's easier to find FCP editors than Vegas around his area.

Since I'm dropping plugs for wed video sites,
take a look at mine.
www.gigdv.com
I'm about 98% done. I hate WEB! I HATE HTML! it's taken me about 3 months to build and its FRUSTRATING!

I've done pretty much everything my self.

Let me know what you think of the site. If you see any errors or any changes you think would work, please let me know.

Auggy,
The website is fine. If it took three months to do, how much nit-picking do you want to spend time addressing. It's easy to navigate and everything is there. The packages are well explained and straught forward.

The DVD intros are really cool. If there is anything big to change I would say it is the reliance on having Flash 9 installed before you can even enter the site. Other people have that too, but in your case there is no warning if you don't have it installed. Just a blank page. I would correct that. I would also add other choices besides Flash 9 to view the samples. I would include Quicktime and WMV and perhaps Ipod samples. Use small icons and have them click on their choice.

Take a look at Bluecore Media from Vancouver for an example. They are my favorite wedding video site to date.

Craftech, perfect feedback.

I'll do that.

Aug,
Just read this post and had a few thoughts. Very nice examples of your work in the gallery. What are you using for titling work? Also, did you do the 3D work in Vegas or AE?

Only difficulty I had on the website was the links across the top didn't always work the first time I clicked. Small item that is one of my pet peeves: when I tried to backtrack away from your website, clicking Back didn't let me out of your website back to the forum.

I don't know your market, but it strikes me that your package prices are a bit low compared to the look of your website. The banner is a knockout!
