i can make 16:9 & 4:3 videos on the same disc since DVDA3. Never owned an earlier one.

Just put them both on there as separate MPEG-2 files. I do it all the time.

I mix 4:3 and 16:9 too with no problem. Of course, the user has to switch their wide-screen TV to 4:3 to see the 4:3 version. And a 16:9 video will have bars above and below when viewed on a 4:3 TV. But this is the case with any DVD.

Thanx, but manual says that it will render all non-complicant (takes first video as standard or was it project properties, can't remember) to same format... i want to keep original quality, no rendering or transcoding... cause i allready have very strong converter... now i finded right word - Multiple-VTS, i need that..

DVDs have a lot of rules on what part of a DVD can talk to another part -- you need to go thru a VMG (higher level than VTS) if I'm not mistaken in order to have different sets of menus at different aspects. DVDA will not do that, at least yet. So you cannot easily have 16:9 & 4:3 menus on a single DVDA DVD - videos are an entirely different thing, & DVDA will do multiple VTS all day long.

[It has to do with the underlying scripting DVDA will always use IMHO]

As far as the proj properties: When/If DVDA renders anything it can go by the proj settings. If your files are DVD spec, it will not re-render, & will not follow proj settings.

Ah, 16:9 and 4:3 menus on the same DVD ... that IS a problem. I think with DVDA, you have to choose one or the other.

Well, it only supports one MENU format. But if you already have your videos properly rendered (and dvd-compliant), then DVDA should try to use them asis (i.e. NOT re-render them).

As others are saying, this is true for menus only, you chose either 16x9 or 4x3 menus. If your videos are encoded in a DVD compliant manner, and they are not too long to fit on a DVD, DVDA will not re-render them, so you can easily mix 4:3 and 16:9 material on the same DVD.

I can confirm this, and I'm using DVDA3. But it is true about the menus. You have to pick one format or the other.
