I apologize if this is a simple or uneducated question, but I don't have any real expereince with Sound Forge or ACID. I downloaded the beta version of SF5 and I'm having trouble editing my ACID loops with it. I'll open a loop as a new project, go into the ACID Loop properties, change the key, and nothing happens -- the loop sounds exactly the same. I know that ACID is the program that's really designed for this kind of work, but I'd heard Sound Forge would also do it... Am I doing something wrong? Is this a mistake in the program? Did I misunderstand the edit loop properties and you can't really change the loops in Sound Forge as you can in ACID? Please let me know if it's possible to edit the tempo/key/etc. of loops in Sound Forge and, if so, tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks! J P.S. The Methods of Mayhem loops are awesome! |

Changing the Acid properties of a file doesn't actually do anything to the audio. These properties are just a way for you to tell Acid how it should treat the audio. For example, if you say the Root Note of the Sample is C, and then set the Acid project to have a master key of D, Acid will transpose the Sample from C to D during playback. To change the actual pitch of an audio file, go to Effects/Pitch/Shift (in SF 4.5) in the Sound Forge Menu. Hex www.thefreeside.com |
