Hi Sage,

Go into the Windows volume control and select
Options>Properties. Where it says "Adjust Volume for",
select "Recording" and click OK. Now make sure that your
CD volume (it may say CD, CD ROM, CD player) is turned up
and that there is a check mark in the select box.

You could get some software that will allow you to extract
tracks digitally so you don't have to use your sound cards
D/A & A/D converters and virtually add more noise, CD
architect will allow you to do this......oh wait..that was
discontinued and you can't purchase that any longer. Well
I suppose you could purchase siren, this also allows you to
rip audio from a cd digitally, or you could wait until
Sound Forge 5.0 comes out, and maybe someone thought of
that option, but don't hold your breath like the rest of us.
