I have been using SF 4.5 for over a year now with pretty good results. However, I'm not real pleased with the sound cards I have tried. The first was the SoundBlaster Live! There was too much other software trash to deal with plus it didn't have an optical interface. My next try was M-Audio's DiO 2448. This seemed to be a very workmanlike device. However, in Windows 2000 the user interface software is virtually non- existant. I have written to Midiman and have not received a response. Any suggestions on a digital sound card that has optical I/O and a stereo analog out ? I'm looking for something in the sub $200.00 range. Thanks, Dave |

Hi Dave, Take a look at www.sfb.net, they sell RME cards, I've been using DIGI96PST for awhile now, superb sound, imho. It's more than $200, but well worth it. S/PDIF coax/ToSLink, analog in/out. Analog output has enough power to drive headphones. Very versatile card, and W2K driver avail. If you have the SB Live! Platinum there is an optional optical interface available. Otherwise, I think the kind of card you're going to want is way beyond the $200 range. Look at the Pro Audio section of marsmusic.com. Dave Smith wrote: >>I have been using SF 4.5 for over a year now with pretty >>good results.
