Subject:What product(s) do I want to buy?

I am a home user who wants to record my vinyl albums to CD. In the Sound Forge family, it appears
that I have two options: (1) Sound Forge XP 4.5 or (2) Sound Forge 4.5. Option 2 is the more
expensive option and appears to be focused on the professional. Since many of my albums are in
poor shape (lots of pops, clicks), I need a noise reduction package. It appears that my option is: Noise
Reduction 2.0. It appears (but I am not positive) that NR 2.0 is a plugin and it requires Sound Forge
4.5 as a prerequisite.

So here are my questions.

Can I purchase XP 4.5 and NR 2.0 and will they work together, or do I need to purchase SF 4.5 and
NR2.0.

Are there other configuration options I should consider.

From information gathered via the we, it appears that SF XP 4.5 does not have noise reduction built
in.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

"ExpressFX 1 and ExpressFX 2 are the only plug-ins that
work with Sound Forge® XP 4.5. They seamlessly integrate
with the Sound Forge XP interface."

That's a direct quote from this website. XP 4.5 doesn't
support directX plugins, which the Noise reduction plugin
is. I can tell you that I have sound forge 4.5 and the
noise reduction plugin and they work awesome for this
purpose. In fact I just did a session 2 days ago for this
purpose. It is an expensive package for the 2, if you're
not doing this professionally, but it is the best Noise
reduction plugin, I've ever used. Sign up on Sonic
Foundry's mailing list for a catalog, they have combo
specials on their software which you might like in there.
There is other software that is cheaper and does this kind
of special purpose vinyl restoration tool, but sorry I
can't help you with their names, and they probably don't
work as well as the noise reduction plugin. I can sell you
some studio time to restore all your Vinyl and put it on CD
for you though, as a cheaper option :-)
