There is no information available about Sound Forge 5.0 at

Wow, Thank you Ted for having the cahoonies for saying that
you don't have information yet. I know I was declined for
being a beta tester because it was being released soon, so
we're all in anticipation now!!!! Sound Forge with 24bit
support.....what a dream come true.

You need the full blown copy of Sound Forge, the XP series
won't help you.

The Noise Reduction module is well worth the money. I've
used it and the results are dramatic. Its not a straight
forward product to use however, and you're going to have to
play with it to optimize the desired output. There's a
learning curve in other words.

I really don't think you're going to find a "cheap"
solution to this. There are other noise reduction products
out there, but when they remove the noise, they also remove
parts of the desired signal. In my opinion the Noise
Reduction DirectX Plugin from SF is the lowest cost
solution that will give you a quality end product.

It cannot correct for LPs that skip or jump, but pops,
clicks, scratches, etc are all handled very well and very
few artifacts result in the output.
