Im new at this. Spent a frustrating weekend reading the
help section in SoundForge XP 4.5 trying to edit out some
pops in my LP recordings. It is not going well. Any
suggestions other than using the Smooth feature. I was
trying to use the noise gate this weekend and determine the
Db level of the noise. Any suggestions please email me.
Thanks!

You will have a hard time doing this in the XP version.
The best way, but very time consuming way to do this is to
find the click, zoom in on it and then take the pencil tool
and manually draw it out. The easiest way to do this, is
to buy Sound Forge 4.5, which allows you to have direct X
plugins, then you need to purchase the SF Noise reduction
plugin. This plugin has a "click and crackle remover", and
a "Vinyl Restoration" feature, which does this same kind of
thing for you. So the choice is yours, spend 5 hours per
song, or spend $500 and 5 minutes.

Bill,

I'll second that motion. After using SF4.5 for a year or
so, and SF4.0 before that, I finally bought NR2.0 about a
month ago. Wow, it works miracles in a very short time,
easily the best value of all the progs and plug-ins I've
bought over the years !

Regards,
Rick Z
