Subject:Midi help?!?!

I recently purchased Symphinc Orchestra from EastWest and I hate to admit that I know nothing about midi and soft synths. I have everything installed and got it recording one track of midi in AP6. BUT my question is:

How do I record another track of midi using the same soft synth?? It seems not to be audible after I record it.

THANKS!

MIDI is digital only; it can produce no sound on it's own. You have to specifically assign a MIDI track output to a soft synth (which is what Symphonic Orchestra is). To do this, read the manual that came with your copy of Acid. Or consult the help file.

I don't have Symphonic Orchestra but I assume it will allow you to assign multiple instruments to multiple MIDI channels. In ACID you can assign a separate MIDI channel to each track. So you control Symphonic Orchestra by assigning it as the MIDI device for the track, then assign a MIDI channel to the track and it will play any instruments that are assigned to listen to that MIDI channel.

I don't have that VSTi , but most typically allow you to send to seperate midi channels. Once you assign midi channels, Create midi tracks in ACid and then select the synth and assign channel on each track.
