SoundForge 4.0-4.0e update problems -Sound Forge - PC

Subject:SoundForge 4.0-4.0e update problems Posted by: jamello Date:12/7/2000 12:25:00 PM I'm trying to update SoundForge 4.0 to 4.0e. However, after running the update, I get a prompt that says, "SoundForge was not installed properly, please re-run setup." I cannot launch SoundForge. This is after I try running the 4.0e update. SoundForge 4.0 runs and launches fine, before the 4.0e update, but after the 4.0e update I get that prompt as described above. Have any advice? Thanks. -James

I talked to a techie and he told me to download the 4.0a and 4.0d updates and install them first. It worked - 4.0e installed and ran fine. I don't know exactly how to go about getting 4.0 a&d now but they used to be at a site called "old updates". I'm sure tech support can tell you where to get them. Good luck. I had the same problem. I talked to a techie and he told me
to download the 4.0a and 4.0d updates and install them
first. It worked - 4.0e installed and ran fine. I don't
know exactly how to go about getting 4.0 a&d now but they
used to be at a site called "old updates". I'm sure tech
support can tell you where to get them.

The site is:

ftp://files1.sonicfoundry.com/updates/oldupdates/

The files are called sfv40ax86.exe and sfv40dx86.exe. Hope
