I just installed Acid Pro 6 and Kopakt but Kompakt doesn't seem to be working - it's not showing up when I click on it even tho other soft synths do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, David |

I take it you can choose Kompakt as a soft synth (under the soft synth chooser)? (If not, ensure that Kompakt is "seen" by ACID by going to Options > Preferences > VST Instruments on the menu bar.) Iacobus |

No, Kompakt is not under soft synths until I do a refresh. And then after the refresh it's in the list but when I choose it, it doesn't come up. Any ideas? Thanks, David |

hey djjrobin, I've been struggling through similar problems and still have questions but let me see if I can lend a hand, is your vsti in your default VST instrument folder or do you browse for it using one of your two alternates? Does the path to those folder end with a .dll file? I hope I'm not being insulting but I found this a bit comfusing as to how ports or buses are selected and how I reassign MIDI ports etc. but that's my prob- when click your device selection tool and you get the "soft synth chooser" window, when you click VSTi preferences you get those folders I mentioned, I believe, if there is a .dll file found you will get your instrument listed with a check box beside it and you click the box hightlight the instrument, get your hourglass and it should appear. Let me know what happens. Love and Gratitude tp |

You are not being insulting. I appreciate all the help I can get! Are you saying the path to the folder SHOULD end with the file name (ending with .dll)? I have been putting in the path to the folder, but not to the actual dll. Please explain. So far even when I get the soft synth to appear in the soft synth list, when I click on it, it does not appear; nothing happens. If I then go back to the soft synth list, Kompakt is no longer there. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks, David |

okay I looked again and what I mean is the path to the folder has to find a .dll file in order to open a soft synth. On my system in the area under "select vst intruments to be available as soft synths" there is a box with the headers 'name', 'vender', and 'location'. Under 'location' the Kontakt soft synth, that I use, path is C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt\Vst\Kontakt.dll - but the folder path beside the alternate VSTi search folder is C:\Program Files\Native Instruments So I think as long as the VSTi search folder path will find the right .dll file a soft synth will be opened and happy playing will ensue. This has been a Newbie's explaination, if anyone with skills can be more clear please wade in. L&G, dj tp |
