Subject:Deleting audience noise

I am new to Sound Forge and sound editing in general. I
recently shot footage of a soap star singing in an L.A.
nightclub where there was lots of annoying audience noise.
Can I edit that out (or at least minimize it) through Sound
Forge? If so, PRECISELY how?

I would really appreciate the help as the guy ("John
Abbott" from The Young and the Restless") is GETTING
restless!

Sure, you can go back and re-record the audience by themselves and
have them say the exact same thing they did the first time, of course
having them stand in the exact same position and speaking the same
level. Then you Mix this recorded signal with your original recorded
signal and put one of the signals 180 degrees out of phase with the
other. What happens is the 2 signals of the same sounds will
subtract from one another and you will be left with, what was
uncommon between the signals....that being "John Abbott". Or you
could learn to use an external directional microphone next time, so
that you know how to reject the noises that you don't want, and pick
up the noises that you do want when you record it the first time.

Hi Dan,

Unfortunately this is just not possible. You may be able to get rid
of a short noise here and there, but you will never be able to get
rid of it all.
