It's been asked before (I searched) but I didn't read any real answer. Is it possible to play a song in Cakewalk, containing midi and audio, and at the same time record it using SoundForge? It should be possible, if you ask me. But how...? Can anyone help? This should be far more easier than having to record all midi tracks to audio in Caewalk and so on... |

Hi, You should be able to do this but only if you have a multi-port audio interface, because Cakewalk and Sound Forge can not share the same sound card drivers at the same time. Check out www.midiman.com or www.echoaudio.com for good quality audio interfaces. Best, Scott -- Scott R. OK .. I have CakeWalk 7 and Sound Forge 4. Can somone give me directions on how to set this up to work? I know it will work because I've done it before, but after setting my computer back up after a a hard drive crash, I can't remember the propper settings. Actually, if someone could point me to where the directions might be located, that would be even better. Thanks, Todd |

I would guess that you are trying to avoid committing al of the MIDI tracks to audio. I would tell you to plug your mix back into the SBLive and record a new stereo track of the mix in CW... then select the track and select Tools/Sound Forge. Do a Save As and you are done. Unfortunately, if I remeber correctly, CW7 doesn't do stereo tracks. You may want to spring for the upgrade. -S |
