Subject:recording Posted by: bru Date:10/19/2000 9:23:00 AM Hi , i just bought soundforge and i was trying to hookup my external mixer (w/turntables) thru my soundcard (line in) in order to record a mix and save it as a wav file so later i could transfer the mix to a cd, so far everything is working ok , i can record and save the file but i was wondering if theres special settings in order to achive better sound quality? any help would be greatly appreciated :)

The recording attributes are listed at the top of the record window, and they can be modified by clicking on the "New" button, which is just to the right of the attributes. Hope this helps. Subject:Re: recording Reply by: Rednroll Date:10/19/2000 1:27:00 PM You also want to make sure you're input record levels are set optimally so you don't get excessive noise from your sound card. Go to the windows mixer section and make sure your Line level input is set to maximum...or wherever 0dB is on that thing. Then you just need to get the best level signal coming from your mixer,to your sound card without going over 0dB in Sound Forge's Record window. Oh, by the way Ted this reminds me for the next update for soundforge, there should be a mixer section which allows you to control the input and output levels right from sound forge, instead of having to goto the windows control panel. Make sure that you are recording at 16-bit and not 8-bit. The
recording attributes are listed at the top of the record window, and
