Hi I just got myself SoundForge and i love it. But i do have a problem. If i would like to know what BPM a song has I´m supposed to go into "edit tempo" and make an selection of 4 beats and so on, But however i do it SF sais that the beat is 120BPM. How do i get SF to calculate for me. I just can´t get it to work. What i would like to learn is how to get the BPM of two songs then edit one of them so it get´s the same BPM as the other and make a BPM mix between them. This i have discovered will not be so easy when I even can´t figure out how to get the BPM´s. Could anyone please help me. I have read the manual and still i can´t get it. Maybe I´m slow but i shure could use some help. Regards DrNibbles |

Make your selection of 4 beats, then go into Edit Tempo and where it says "Selection Length in Beats" Type in 4.000 and then just click in the "Tempo In Beats per Minute" field and Sound Forge will calculate it for you. Hey Thank you for your fast answer. I sat home and did this and managed to get the BPM´s. I took two soongs that have almost the same beat (after beeing a DJ for several years i have figured that out at least) and then tried to pitch them as close as possible. But after trying more than enough i still have problems mixing them without one dragging behind or one going to fast. Mixing like this is really easy on two turntables but i´m missing some kind of layer funktion with built in strech or something. That way you could strech the wave pattern to fit, like you do with turntables when you slow the record down or speed it up with your finger. Mixing with a computer was not as easy as i thought. Might just go back to the turning tables again. //joel PS But i like SF when it comes to editing music Brian Franz wrote: >>Make your selection of 4 beats, then go into Edit Tempo and where >>it says "Selection Length in Beats" Type in 4.000 and then just click >>in the "Tempo In Beats per Minute" field and Sound Forge will >>calculate it for you. >> >>Joel wrote: >>>>Hi >>>>I just got myself SoundForge and i love it. What you're trying to do is best done using Acid. You can pick up Acid Music for around 60 bucks now. Use this in conjuction with Sound Forge and you'll never turn back to the turntables. You create loops in sound Forge, throw em in acid and make them do whatever tempo you want without changing the pitch. You don't even have to figure out the tempo, if your working with loops, Acid just has to know how many beats the loop is. Joel wrote: >>Hey >> >>Thank you for your fast answer.
