Subject:wont record!!! HELP!!!

When i have the record window up in ACID Music, i can see
the bar go up and down allong with my guitar. As soon as i
hit record though, it shoots up into the red and the
counter of recording doesnt start. The REcord button
changes to the stop button so i know i hit the right thing.
HELP!!!!!
